You may have noticed, the Recycle Your Media team really cares about helping you decide what to do with your data when you no longer need it.
As you already know we provide you a data destruction certificate, and concerning LTO data tape media, we can assure you that with our unique erasing technology, no data will be left on the tapes after completing our process.
However, we would like to present you today another added service you can find here at Recycle Your Media: VOLSER (Volume Serial Number).
This service permits to perform a whole inventory audit, and therefore you will have complete reporting of every tape leaving your facility.
To better help you understand how important this data center service is, here are the steps of Recycling by VOLSER:
1) At customer facility we scan every barcode on every tape to be recycled
2) Data approved and a document is signed by a customer and a RYM employee3) All tapes are placed in secure lock boxes4) Lock boxes are then put on a dedicated truck for transport to our facility5) Full Chain-of-Custody will be provided, you will be able to track the trucks route to our facility6) Once the tapes reach our facility the lock boxes are placed in a locked, alarmed, video surveillance caged area7) We then scan all the used tapes once again and report will be provided to customer to compare the scan to the first for proof nothing was tampered with during transit8) Once 2nd report is verified we stage the used media for processing9) All tape is sorted, counted and completely erased10) Upon completion a certificate of data destruction and the check for the value is mailed to customerHere is a video presenting this service:
